Jennifer Kingsley
Jennifer Kingsley is a Canadian journalist, a National Geographic Explorer, and the Field Correspondent for Lindblad Expeditions. She has travelled extensively in the global Arctic and throughout the temperate rain forest of the Pacific Rim. After completing her biology degree, she worked in Canada's Rocky Mountain National Parks before moving to British Columbia to specialize in grizzly bear ecology. Jennifer spent several seasons sailing among the whales, bears, and wolves of the Great Bear Rainforest.
Jennifer started with Lindblad Expeditions on the National Geographic Explorer's inaugural trips, then earned a Master of Fine Arts degree and wrote Paddlenorth, a book about her 54-day canoe expedition across the Canadian Arctic. Paddlenorth won the National Outdoor Book Award in 2015. Jennifer is also a radio producer whose documentaries have been broadcast internationally and recognized by the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University.
In 2015, Jennifer created Meet the North, a journalism project that shares stories of modern Arctic culture from around the world. This project has been sponsored by Lindblad since it began, and Jennifer’s stories have been published by National Geographic, the BBC, the CBC, and other outlets.
Jennifer's passion for natural history and cultural diversity has led her to make audio recordings in Russia, visit remote parks in central Africa, explore villages in India, cut trails in the Caribbean, and make maple syrup back home in eastern Canada.
