Mariuxi Prieto

Mariuxi has many interests, and is a Biologist, Historian and Writer. She was born in the city of Guayaquil (the most important port and financial capital of Ecuador), where she spent most of her life. She went to the University of Guayaquil and got a degree in Biology. She then began to work in the Galapagos as a Naturalist Guide in 1991. Mariuxi's specialty in Biology are the fascinating Cetaceans, and among other publications, she published the first official list of cetaceans in Ecuadorian waters. As a Historian, she's done a lot of research that has helped to overthrow old myths. And as a Writer, she is working at present on her first book.
