Isabela and Fernandina Islands
I made my way through the main corridor of the ship by 6:30 in the morning, ready to make one of our early morning wake up calls. I stood for a second by the window to contemplate the horizon; not bad, not bad at all I said to myself! It was clear skies, calm waters and a nice, shiny day already.
It wasn’t too long after my call that some common dolphins decided to be in our company for a while. So what started as an optional wake up call turned out to be a general announcement! It was a wise decision, and almost everyone got out of their beds to contemplate with us one of the nicest moments of the day. The dolphins stayed for a while, but our tummies claimed energy for the body, so we let them continue their way and headed for breakfast.
Our day had scheduled so many activities that it was hard to choose what to do, but in the end, the faces of satisfaction proved that each one of the guests made the right choice.
Zodiac rides, kayaks outings, snorkeling and hikes… we had a little bit (or a lot) for everyone. Isabela and Fernandina are located at the westernmost realm of the Galápagos, adorning the archipelago with their imposing volcanoes. Surrounded by volcanoes, we awoke this morning, and surrounded by them once again, we headed to our beds. The sky was full of stars covering our heads with their magical sparks. With one final look at them we said good by to a day that won’t be easily forgotten.
