A Lasting Relationship
It is the final day of Lindblad’s three-month reign aboard the Sea Cloud II in the Caribbean. For staff members Tom O’Brien, David Barnes, and myself, the ship has become something of a very comfortable second home being that we’ve been on board since the Atlantic Crossing on November 15th. Nostalgia is inevitable as I reflect upon what it was that created the magic in each voyage.
As with any chartered ship, a balance has to be established between the two companies to create a seamless experience for the guests. While the Sea Cloud II’s service is five star and absolutely impeccable, Lindblad is generally more flexible and spontaneous. However, from the commitments made by Captain Henrik Karlsson and Tom O’Brien to bond the two cultures, their dedicated efforts have smoothed over any complexities allowing the best of both companies to shine through. The finished product that the guests enjoy each day on board is a winning combination of luxury and adventure.
