Today was filled with many memorable highlights. During the morning hours we found three species of whales; a blue whale, fin whales, and two Bryde's whales. Between these wonderful sightings we were surrounded by several hundred bottlenose dolphins swimming lazily around the ship. Many of them swam in to bow-ride in front of the ship (see photo). In addition to getting superb views of the dolphins, we also put our hydrophone in the water to listen to their whistling calls and echolocation clicks.

After an enjoyable afternoon of kayaking and hiking, we made an extra outing in our Zodiacs after dinner. The waters around our anchorage were full of tiny bioluminescent organisms in greater density than any of us had ever witnessed here in Baja. Driving around the bay in the dark, we all thrilled to the astonishing display of brilliant blue light that burst continually from the boat's wake.
