Today, National Geographic Orion pulled into a bay on the northside of Hive-Oa of the Marquesas Islands. We had an opportunity that many have been waiting for since day one of the trip; some people have been waiting a lifetime for it. For here, we had the opportunity to snorkel in the warm, nutrient-rich waters, where it is possible to glimpse the majestic manta ray. Guests swam alongside these gentle giants as the rays banked, soared, and feasted on plankton too small for us to see. It was an incredible experience and a nice cap to our time here in the Marquesas.
