Ittoqqortoormiit is a village in East Greenland, made up of about 450 residents. There was much to experience upon arrival to the village.  We were greeted by friendly residents who embraced us. We tried some of the local cuisine and were able to visit the tourism museum. As Grosvenor Fellows, the principal gave us a personal tour of the school. Students learn English, Danish, East Greenland and West Greenland languages, and will be implementing the use of iPads for its students in the near future.  You can’t help but be intrigued by the piercing howls of working sled dogs who were lined up in perfect rows waiting to be fed.  While we waited for our Zodiac to return to the ship, some of us interacted with the children from the village, playing games with them and trying to learn their names. Following our time in Ittoqqortoormiit, we took a Zodiac cruise through one of the most beautiful glaciers at Scoresbysund.  We look forward to what tomorrow might bring.
