Today was the second day of our expedition through the Gulf of California. A majestic sunrise lit up the Sierra de la Giganta as we sailed south towards Los Islotes and the weather conditions were perfect. Our first activity of the day was to take a close look at the California sea lion colony called Los Islotes. We embarked our expedition landing craft to cruise around the islets, where a couple hundred sea lions haul-out and breed. It is amazing that we can have such experiences with animals that are 100 percent wild, and still, they do not seem to mind our presence at all. If that wasn’t enough, we had the opportunity to snorkel with these playful creatures. We had an amazing morning followed by an afternoon exploring Espiritu Santo Island.
