Isla San Jose

First light found us heading north with calm seas along the eastern side of Isla San Jose. The sea conditions were ideal for searching for marine life, and we soon spotted a group of three blue whales swimming nearby. As they sounded we had time to look for other marine life, and a small manta type ray called a mobula swam alongside the ship.

The warm sunny weather, the spouting whales, abundant marine life and beautiful scenery all added up to a most enjoyable morning of our first day in the Sea of Cortez.
